I had the opportunity to interview last week With Jose Perez, District Manager for TEVA Pharmaceuticals
, for a security position. I had a position as an Oover Nnight Ssecurity Gguard back in May, but unfortunately I had to resign from my position due to my education. I had reached out to Jose about returning in September to a Ffull T-time position. He felt withat in themy short time of working there, I had showedn great professionalism. He decided I was qualified to apply for a position as a Global Security Operations Center Coordinator.

The responsibilities are providing a comprehensive “edge-to-endpoint” monitoring approach tfo provide broad visibility of activity across the infrastructure of a high -profile client, and leveragesing intelligence from several systems and technology databases that provide advanced correlation and analysis capabilities to deliver a prioritized list of action security incidents to the security operations team. TEVA Pharmaceuticals is a worldwide company theyat works with Europe, Japan and, South Korea, foreign countries such as Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, and Chile, they also work with the United States, and Canada.

This position will ask ofrequire me to be a key contributor to the security operations team in the event of a crisis situation that would threaten the safety and secureity of business operations. This could include, but is not limited to: natural disasters, workplace violence, facility emergencies, fire, and issues of serious injury or illness. A SOC OpTherator responsibility of an SOC Operator would be for the effective and efficient processing of all information relevant to the security operations business. This includes, but is not limited to: effective distribution of all phone calls received, effective distribution of all information received via electronic means (email, intranet, automated service requests, etc.), allocation and assignment of information to the appropriate department or individual, and effective documentation of information received and processed. Tasks throughout the shifts would be; the tasks may include answering phones,; monitoring closed -circuit television systems, alarms, and other very important facility systems; and interacting with our client’s facilities managers. These positionasks require heavy use of computer operating systems, such as Microsoft and other operating systems. I am excited to take on the challenge to learn and build on the skills I have learned with Career Services.

I will be starting to work with the Security Department for TEVA Pharmaceuticals in September, and will then begin training, which will take around a year. I am happy to share this news with my Career Services family.
