Abstract: Radioactivity concentrations of natural radionuclides (226Ra, 232Th and 40K) for thirty six samples of soil and soybeans collected from three different soil textures (clay loam, sandy clay loam, and silty clay loam) in Upper Egypt, have been estimated by a gamma spectroscopy NaI (Tl) 3x3 inch detector. The soil textures were done using particle sizeparticle-size distribution by the pipette method. The Soil-Soybean transfer factor (TF) has been calculated , and its TF values ranged from 0.27 to 0.42, from 0.22 to 0.90, and from 0.95 to 2.10 for 226Ra, 232Th and 40K respectively, in the case of clay loam soil. In the case of the sandy clay loam soil, the values ranged from 0.21 to 0.57, from 0.23 to 1.40, and from 1.21 to 2.52 for 226Ra, 232Th and 40K, respectively. Finally, the obtained results of (TF) values in silty clay loam soil ranged from 0.25 to 0.53, from 0.25 to 0.88, and from 1.01 to 1.46 for 226Ra, 232Th and 40K respectively. The annual effective dose from soybeanssoybeans' consumption has been estimated. The frequency distribution for all radioactive variables in soil, soybeans, and soil- soybeans transfer factorfactors were analyzed.
