My desire to pursue dentistry began at the time I was taking my grandfather back and forth to an oral cancer center for his tongue cancer during my high school years. Watching him and other people with oral cancer in the oncology center with debilitating complications, such as not being able to eat, becoming more frail day by day, suffering from severe pain and fighting for their lives till the last, ignited my passion to be an advocate for oral health care and gettingobtaining the required education and credentials for this purpose.

Since those days, I
hadhave kept my eyes wide open and sealed my interest in dentistry and gotwas accepted at one of the best dental schools in my country. As I expected, dentistry was a field that required hard work, dedication and energy to get through the long days; yet, amazing treatment results were truly worth striving for. Thus, despite going through the most devastating moments of my life during the civil war in my country, my inner voice kept telling me that I have to stay faithful to the valuable goal I had chosen long before, and thatwhich was becomingto become a successful dentist. Certainly, losing my loved ones and witnessing senseless acts of violence kept botheringinvading my thoughts;, but I had a dream and I protected it.
